I'm just an LVN
For a fact I am just an LVN, but don't think that doesn't mean I don't have a brain.

I have not felt the heat of combat...but
So much to discuss, so much anger in the world today. And I am not an authority on any of it, but I have a computer at my disposal and the ablitity to hunt and peck my way through the english language. Well at least Texanese!
No, I have not felt the heat of battle, but I work among those who have. I do not respect them just for that but for their dedication even after the fact. They continue to love this country who has abandon them. I know you are thinking this is not the same as during the Vietnam era with protest from sea to shining sea. I realize this, it is much more subtle. They have the World Wide Web to be discriminated against, to be be spit upon and protested against.
I try not to mix business with pleasure, but sometimes business of freedom and supporting our men and women that are in harms way is my pleasure. Remember what I think or post here are my own thoughts. So, when people make statements about our place as a country in the world that I find, well, for lack of a better term treasonous, I might have something to say about that. When I have been in the position of defending this country for 6 years 11 months and 25 days (but who is counting) and someone makes statements that they would never lay their life down for their country, especially in these times. My ears perk up, just like a cat who hears the can opener go off.
It aggravates me when someone has anything negative to say about our troops when they are not willing to leave their safe lifestyle. They have the nerve to condemn those who provide the freedom to say these things.
I recently caught a web video of a speech by LTC Allen West (see that video here) congressman for Florida's 22nd district. I am not even going to try to quote him, but essence he said those of you who are or were in the military took an oath, it has no statute of limitations. That really threw me off, cause I took that oath 3 times, twice on inital enlistment and once when I reenlisted. So, I am bound by it till God calls me home. The part I liked the most was "defend the constitution from enemies foreign and domestic". I think we have a bunch on both fronts. By the way, I have no vested interest in whether or not Congressman West is re-elected. I can't help him, I live in Texas. I just enjoyed watching the video. I happen to agree with everything he says in the video.
We need more men and women of conviction like LTC West. Not just a bunch of ad executives providing slick marketing campaigns to get our attention long enough to get them into office.
After watching the video I really had to ask myself am I ready to risk my life for my fellow man even if he is not willing to risk his. I came up with the same answer as I did 3 times, yes I will. If you disagree with me, I will. If you hate me for my comments, I will. There are no conditions on whether I will fix my bayonet to protect this country and the values it was built upon. It is not about me or even us, it is for my childrens children and their children. I want for my own children not a country where everything is provided for them but for them to have an opportunity to excell, by the sweat of their own brow.

Democrats just talkin!
I don't listen to much about what the Democrats have to say about much of anything. I caught just a little bit of Hillary's rant before the Late night news came on, and she told me that the economy was not sound. That is freakin' news to me. Me & mine are doing fine. And let me tell you how fine things are. We got a 9 month old baby, a brand new Harley, and Barb just bought herself a brand new laptop. No we ain't going to the French Riviera or any place like that, but things are about as fine as they ever have been. I am going to the Drag Races in Dallas at the end of next month, just another redneck thing I love. Anyway I think the government only helps those who won't help themselves. I don't have much use for them any way. Just my opinion.

Just a few thoughts!!
It has been a while since I have posted anything. So much has happened; Hope is growing like a weed, Ashely Force became the first woman to win a National event in funny car (the national media ignored her), and the democrats are about to implode!! That whole bit about what President Bush said in Israel about compromising with terrorist was right on the money. It was not an attack on Senator Obama's views on how to deal with terrorists. With all that being said, the next big thing is to watch the Spurs finally win in New Orleans, if they play like they did in game 6 it will only be a matter of time. Well that's about it.

Spurs
What can I really say about the first round, except I am glad to be finished with the Phoenix Suns. During this series I made it a habit to read the comments of their fans, they are still blaming Robert Horry, which really confuses me. Last year outside that game where he hip checked Steve Nash, the Suns had other opportunities to win and didn't. All of that is really ancient history. Listening to the announcers you think the Suns were up 3 to 1. I just knew they all had money on the Suns. The refs wanted to give the game to the Suns, they just wouldn't take it. I saw so many fouls on the Suns that were just blown of and chalked up to incidental contact, but when the Spurs would breath the same air as Steve Nash or Boris Diaw, call a foul. I don't want to sound like sour grapes after the fact but I just call them like I see them.
Now it on to what I beleive a much tougher opponent, the Hornets, Chris Paul is playing great ball. At least we don't so much of History with NO.

Money is Overrated!
Yeah I know but try to live without it. On 14 Nov 2007, my life changed and it will never be the same. No, I didn't find Jesus, we have been in touch, I became the father of a daughter. I feel like the luckiest man in the world. I have 2 terrific sons, both are gentlemen, and i love them with all my heart. However, I feel like there has been this change in my life that only Fathers of daughters can understand. It is best feeling I think I have ever had. I guess if you just listen to Rodney Atkins "Cleaning this Gun", you will understand. It is now my favorite song. I can't wait until they get home later today. it is going to be awesome. I asked my wife if anything could make her happier and she said no. I said even a million dollars. She said she had that right there in her arms! Life is awesome. He is a picture and I think she is the most beautiful little girl in the world.

So much is goin on!
I hope I am able to communicate my thoughts. I feel like I am living in a stream of consciousness. You know where one thing doesn't have anything to with anything else. First of all Hope's birthday has been put off until 14 Nov. 2007. Which really put me in a pickle because I had already, requested certain days off at work and everything was pretty much set. Then the Dr. decided oh I have overbooked my day on the 12th so we need to put you off until the 14th. So that has been a source of stress. Then he decided Barb needs to be on bed rest. Which I have been wondering why they didn't to this like a month ago. With all of this going on about 2 weeks ago my Mom fell and broke her hip, she live like 400 miles away. I never could get to talk to her until today. She is doing fine and all. In a rehab center. I can't just get in the car and go see her because Barb could pop at any moment. Then my exxxxxxxxxxxx-wife is playing games with my youngest son, which just gets under my skin. I could care less how it affects her, but I get to explain to him that his mother is not going to pick him up again. To his credit he would rather hang out here with us anyway. It's her loss. Then there is work which is always a source of stress, since I work with about 6 or 7 people who all have multiple personalities. Like Forrest said "It's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are gonna get". I am not complaining, just need to vent a little. I feel much better now. Now only if Tony Pedergon would DNQ this weekend, the last weekend of Drag Racing that would be a beautiful thing.
